Update Number 4

It has been sometime since I last blogged. Well, the Genesis crew has been busy. Yes, I broke my elbow, but that didn’t stop me. After only a week of lazing around I got back on that horse and started to plan what we are going to do after our Hiatus which will occur in two weeks after we release Lessons from a Frozen Paradise Part 1.

The next up coming script is called Forecast which was written by me, and was complete around the time it became the year 2006. Yes, that was a long time ago. It was the first episode we ever finished, and we are all proud of it. Well, I am. Immhotep once called it his favorite episode.

As, I am doing this blog I am talking with Immhotep, about a possible season 2 episode the will hopefully turn out to be a real fun one to write and read. I just hope I am the one who ends up writing it, but he is my boss so we will see.

With, our Hiatus coming up I have realized that we should really try to give you a tentative time for how long it takes. We really want to only spend six weeks max on Hiatus. We don’t want to go on a nice long four month one like someone we know.

Though I just want you guys to keep reading, and don’t worry I will give you some nice spoilers. We have what can only be described as a trilogy coming up after Easy Rider which is episode eleven so episodes twelve through fourteen will make up this trilogy. The first two episodes take place during the same time but concentrate on two separate plot lines that happen to be in the same timeframe. Both Plot lines were just to be to be in one episode together. The third trilogy episode will tie the plot lines together. With the first episode being written by Immhotep, and the second one by me, and the third a co-write between the two of us.

The first episode will be Daniel, and Pelion as we explore the more spiritual side of the show and the second one will be with the rest of the crew as they fight for their lives against our greatest of enemies. All leading up to a great revelation about the species as a whole. Okay enough spoilers.

Now onto the website. What is going on with the website you may ask. Well, to be honest I don’t know that much. Our website guy is a coworker with the Pope so he didn’t disappear I just haven’t talked to him in a while, but from what I hear everything is on schedule.

The update - Immhotep's bullitin

Hello, I’m finally doing my own update to the 'genesis blog' and well it’s been a busy few weeks and its going to be busy for the next while I suspect too. So what’s been up, firstly were in the middle of our season's first half, we’ve had mixed opinions but overall were positive, our download record is better than we could have hoped (over 450 downloads so far!). Let’s just say, it’s been a great few weeks for us, and we thank you all.

Now for some bad news, our staff writer Harry martin (captainpash) has been put out of action due to a broken elbow, this thankfully will not affect Genesis's writing too much, he has completed all episodes that will be released in the near future; we all will surely miss him being around and hope he gets well soon.

Now for some episode updates:
Mirage: Mirage will be our Nox episode, and will also see the introduction of our sixth regular character, the alteran child Pelion. This episode is completed.

Convergence: Convergence is our action hero episode, lots of drama and tension, but also very emotion filled episode, one of my favourite episodes yet in all honesty. This episode is completed.

Forecast: Forecast will be the 'teams' first real mission, in the sense our team will be exploring, adventuring and interacting like a true SG team for the first time. Written by Harry Martin this was actually the first episode we completed, hope you enjoy it.

Lessons from a frozen paradise: This episode is going to be a corker, time travel, space battles, flashbacks, technology, alien races, emotion, drama, and character development. Its going to be a great episode by the looks of it, co-written by both Patricia Stewart and James Pope it is currently a WIP.

Also for the aforementioned Lessons we shall be releasing a gallery of art work, that shall accompany the episode, these drawing should (if all goes to plan) involve pictures of the ark, of the time device, of alien ships and other technology yet to feature in SGG.

Website; Ah yes our website, we have long known that our website is an Achilles heel, however in the near future that will be no more, A brand new website is in development for Genesis that will bring our series back to 100%, we expect it to be done within the first half of our season, hopefully the first episode release on the will be lesson, and the concept art be loaded up on to the new site ASAP for you all to browse.

What’s next? - good question, well as I’ve said, the website is at the moment my most anticipated feature, however episode will come first, were already going through our second half of the season in preparation for writing (including my own debut episode), and even planning episodes for our second season (yes we think that far ahead!); above and beyond websites and episodes. Well at the moment I’m writing a series of mini guides to our genesis universe, which should give a little added depth to it, these feature will not give spoilers to episode but more like the omni-pedia is, an extra resource to have.

Well that’s all from me at the moment, ill be posting on GW, SGU and our own genesis forum whenever they call and I hope to hear from all of the readers of Genesis, with comments, feedback, reviews and the like whenever you wish to give it.

What we are doing.

Well, right now I have all my episodes done. For a long time. I mean an episode that I haven't told you about, I have it done. (Spoilerish). The Pope is working on Lessons From a Frozen Paradise Part One, and Pat is finishing up the editing of Tourch so I can publish it to PDF. Immhotep hinself is going to be writing an episode entitled Catylist later in the season. I might give you details on that later.

Now, The Pope has been doing some nice concept art for us. He has three done, but only one Immhotep is going to allow me to show you guys. While atleast untill after Tourch comes out. Which brings me to my next point. The crew of this VS seems to be multi talented. I mean not to brag, but I can do some nice stuff with Photoshop, and computers in general. The Pope while you can see he is pretty good with a pencil, and some paper. Pat well, she is a pretty smart women, and if you ever need a threapist she is the one to call. Immhotep he can manage a VS, and even though he tries to convice us otherwise. He can write.

So, you wonder why should I read this. Because if you are here you probably have the want to do something fun with your time, and Genesis is fun. Even making it is fun. It isn't work. I don't get paid. No one does we do it out of love, and the love to write. Or the love to share our ideas with others. We won't sell out because we would get the pants sued off of us if we did you can always know what we put out we wanted to show you.

So, welcome to the Genesis Blog. We are a Virtual Series. What is a Virtual Series you may ask? Well, it is a series written in script form, but just not put on TV. There are actually many of these floating around out there. I am talking a lot. People with their own Production companies. (Kinda interesting huh?) Well, Genesis is based off of Stargate. Here is the low down:

When the testing of a new Weapon system for Earths battle cruisers hits an unexpected target, Dr jackson and a group of explorers are thrown in to the greatest adventure human kind has ever ventured into. This team are caught aboard a magnificent time traveling wonder, the Arc. the Arc was the last hope for all life in the old universe, a failed promise that has been given one final chance to succeed.

Genesis tells the story of Daniel Jackson's team and their quest through the depths of time to complete the mission of the arc; knowing full well that if they do not, the universe they have all fought to keep, will never come about to fight for.

In a time of great races and ever nearing peril, will the team be able to overcome the grandness of it all and prove that humanity is worthy of greatness once and for all.

Okay, we already have three episodes out, and we are about to publish another. Each Monday we release an episode unless of course we are on Hiatus. (Fancy word for break.) So I will have links to our still being worked on site, and few of our afflitates up soon.
